COVID-19 DAILY STATUS REPORT, VACCINE DASHBOARD UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 5,574 new cases of coronavirus and 95 more virus-related deaths were reported in Georgia on Wednesday by this state’s Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 1,854,905 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll now stands at 27,750. The number of confirmed cases totaled 22,215 in Floyd County, which has additionally had a total of 348 fatalities. Fulton County has had the most confirmed cases in this state with 176,970 and the most deaths with 1,810.

As of Wednesday’s update to the DPH’s vaccine dashboard, 14,095,494 of the vaccines have been administered across the state; 62 percent of all Georgians have received at least one dose, while 54 percent have been fully vaccinated. Among fully vaccinated Georgians, 37 percent have had an additional dose; 20 percent of residents statewide have had the booster.
