NORTHWEST GEORGIA COUNCIL OF BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA CELEBRATES SCOUTING ANNIVERSARY WITH SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY

February is an important month to the Boy Scouts of America as the scouting organization celebrated its birthday back on the 8th. The Northwest Georgia Council has been celebrating 112 years of scouting here in the US by serving this community throughout the month.

Eric Vaughn, Vice President of Marketing for the council, says that the slate of activities for February of 2022 has already included the Scouting for Food drive to benefit the Salvation Army of Rome, GA, as well as a pair of Scout Sunday events. Coming up – the annual Council Banquet, which is scheduled for the evening of Saturday, February 26th in Calhoun.

Matt Hart, Scout Executive/CEO, asserts that the Boy Scouts have much to offer to community members who wish to get involved with the organization. Volunteers of all ages are sought – from the young to the young-at-heart.
