COVID-19 DAILY STATUS REPORT, VACCINE DASHBOARD UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 1,948 new cases of coronavirus and 108 more virus-related deaths were reported in Georgia on Wednesday by the state’s Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 1,898,410 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll now stands at 28,889. The number of confirmed cases totaled 22,743 in Floyd County, which has additionally had a total of 374 fatalities. Fulton County has had the most confirmed cases in this state with 180,916 and the most deaths with 1,883.

As of the Wednesday update to the vaccine dashboard, 14,258,973 vaccines have been administered statewide; 63 percent of all Georgians have received at least one dose, while 55 percent have been fully vaccinated. Among fully vaccinated Georgians, 38 percent have had an additional dose; 21 percent of residents statewide have had the booster.
