CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

According to the latest update from the Georgia Department of Public Health this past Friday afternoon, a total of 1,902,211 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported across the state since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll stands at 29,151. There have been 22,762 confirmed cases in Floyd County, which has additionally had 384 deaths. Fulton County has had the most confirmed cases in the state with 181,304, as well as the most deaths with 1,898.

As of Friday’s update to the vaccine dashboard, 14,279,633 vaccines have been administered across the state; 63 percent of all Georgians have received at least one dose, while 55 percent have been fully vaccinated. Among fully vaccinated Georgians, 38 percent have had an additional dose; 21 percent of residents statewide have had the booster.
