HABITAT FOR HUMANITY – COOSA VALLEY SEEKS VOLUNTEERS TO ASSIST WITH 58TH HOME BUILD

Habitat for Humanity – Coosa Valley seeks volunteers to assist with its 58th home build. A groundbreaking was held at the home at 1400 Gordon Avenue in Rome this past Sunday. Upon its completion, it will be inhabited by Macy Bowers and family.

Those interested in volunteering should contact Habitat for more information, according to Betsy Allgood, Executive Director.

Another way to support Habitat is to register for the 2022 Hammer It Home for Habitat 5K and Health Walk slated for Saturday, April 30th at State Mutual Stadium, the home of the Rome Braves. Allgood says that those who register soon will receive five percent off their total purchase at the Habitat ReStore, located at 504 East 1st Avenue behind Central Plaza.

A groundbreaking will be held soon for Habitat’s 59th home at a date that has yet to be determined. And if you are interested in receiving assistance from Habitat for Humanity, apply now! Applications for homeownership are being accepted by the Coosa Valley chapter through Friday, February 25th at 5 pm, indicates Allgood, who adds that all homeowners are required to put in ‘sweat equity’ in order to receive assistance.
