NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS WITH MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL, FANS CAN STILL LOOK FORWARD TO ROME BRAVES BASEBALL IN 2022

The deadline of 5 pm on Tuesday came and went without a new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) between Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association. MLB has since announced that the first two series of the 2022 regular season will not be played. The season will begin no earlier than April 7th, while Spring Training games will begin no earlier than March 12th.

No matter what happens up in the majors, fans can still look forward to minor league baseball in 2022. David Cross, General Manager of the Rome Braves, says that he looks forward to seeing everyone at State Mutual Stadium for the team’s home opener on April 12th.

Rome, the High-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, will open the season on the road at Greensboro, NC versus the Grasshoppers on April 8th.

The Atlanta Braves’ World Series Champion Trophy Tour will make a stop at State Mutual Stadium during the Rome Braves’ season opening homestand on April 13th.
