THERE WILL BE ROME BRAVES BASEBALL IN 2022 – NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS WITH THE MLB LOCKOUT

There will be Rome Braves baseball in 2022. The Atlanta Braves’ High-A minor league affiliate will take the field this Spring, regardless of whether or not Major League Baseball’s lockout ends any time soon, attests David Cross, General Manager of the Rome Braves. The local team will open their season on the road in Greensboro, North Carolina against the Grasshoppers on April 8th. Their home opener is slated for April 12th at State Mutual Stadium versus Hudson Valley. Cross anticipates a possible uptick in attendance at the minor league games if baseball fans are unable to get their major league fix.

Fans will have the opportunity to view the Atlanta Braves’ 2021 World Series trophy at State Mutual Stadium on April 13th. Cross indicates that he was in awe the first time he saw it.

The Rome Braves announced their 2022 promotional schedule on Thursday; it may be viewed online at www.romebraves.com.

Those currently in search of a baseball fix are encouraged by Cross to head to State Mutual Stadium this Saturday to see a pair of area high school teams in action, Pepperell and Cedartown. First pitch is slated for 5:30 pm.
