PUBLIC INVITED TO MEET CARLA MATON, THE NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF AMERICAN RED CROSS OF NWGA, DURING OPEN HOUSE EVENT TODAY IN ROME

The public is invited to meet Carla Maton, the new Executive Director of the American Red Cross of Northwest Georgia, during an Open House event set for today from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Rome office, located at 112 John Maddox Drive.

Maton joined the Red Cross as the chapter’s Disaster Program Manager back in January of 2016 and was promoted in 2019 to a statewide role as Disaster Recovery Manager. She enthuses that she is excited to be back in Northwest Georgia.

Maton is a graduate of Dalton State College with a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership. She and her family of six now reside in Whitfield County.

Both indoor and outdoor activities have been planned for today’s Open House event.

March is American Red Cross Month. The observance was commemorated with a proclamation by the Rome City Commission at their regular meeting on Monday night.

The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors, according to its mission statement. The organization provides disaster relief, blood services, and support to military families.
