BROADCASTER BEN INGRAM LOOKS FORWARD TO HAVING THE CALL THIS YEAR AS THE ’21 WORLD SERIES CHAMPION ATLANTA BRAVES SET OUT TO CLAIM ANOTHER TITLE

The broadcasters from the Braves Radio Network look forward to having the call in 2022 as the ’21 World Series champion Atlanta Braves set out to claim another title.

Ben Ingram, play by play announcer, fondly remembers the evening that the Braves won the World Series for the first time since 1995 on November 2nd of last year. He states that it was important to him to accurately provide the call of that historic final out as the Braves defeated the Houston Astros in Game 6 of the Fall Classic (by a final score of 7-0) out in Houston, Texas.

And now that the MLB lockout is over, it is time to get back to the business of baseball. The Braves’ first Spring Training game of 2022 is set for today at 1:05 pm in North Port, FL versus the Minnesota Twins. All weekend Spring Training games will air throughout the Braves Radio Network leading up to Opening Day of the ’22 regular season on April 7th. Ingram says that he looks forward to being back in the broadcast booth.

WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM will have coverage from the Braves Radio Network of this weekend’s Grapefruit League outings. The Braves will head to Port Charlotte, FL to face the Tampa Bay Rays this Saturday. They will be back on their home field in North Port to take on the Philadelphia Phillies this Sunday afternoon. First pitch of both games is slated for 1:05 pm; air time is 12:55 pm.

Ingram was a guest on the Thursday, March 17th edition of “Good Morning, Rome” on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM. The full interview may be heard online at www.wlaq1410.com.

In other news from the Braves, the team and pitcher Mike Soroka agreed to a non-guaranteed contract worth $2.8 million for the 2022 season on Thursday.
