THE ’21 WORLD SERIES CHAMPION ATLANTA BRAVES CONTINUE TO MAKE MOVES AS THE COUNTDOWN CONTINUES TO OPENING DAY ’22

In these days following the conclusion of the MLB lockout, the 2021 World Series champion Atlanta Braves have wasted no time in securing their line-up for the 2022 season.

Many fans are coming to terms with the fact that Freddie Freeman will not be back in a Braves uniform after more than a decade as Atlanta’s first baseman. Ben Ingram, play-by-play announcer for the Braves Radio Network, says that it will be odd to see Freddie in an LA Dodgers uniform.

However, Ingram expects great things from new first baseman Matt Olson, an Atlanta native who was acquired last week as a part of a five-player deal with the Oakland Athletics.

And, in an interesting turn of events as Freddie Freeman heads from Atlanta to LA, the Braves signed former Dodgers closing pitcher Kenley Jansen to a one-year contract worth $16 million late Friday night.

Ingram was a guest on the Thursday, March 17th edition of “Good Morning, Rome” on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM. The full interview may be heard online at www.wlaq1410.com.

The countdown continues to Opening Day – there are now just 17 days until the Braves open up their 2022 regular season on Thursday, April 7th at Truist Park in Atlanta against the Cincinnati Reds. Catch every pitch as the Braves aim to defend their ’21 World Series title over the airwaves of WLAQ 1410 AM/96.9 FM. Tune in for Spring Training coverage over the weekend from the Braves Radio Network.

The Braves now have two wins and one tie in Grapefruit League play after a 5-1 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies down in North Port, FL on Sunday. They scored all five of their runs during the bottom of the eighth inning. Up next – a match in Fort Myers, FL versus the Boston Red Sox set for today at 1:05 pm.
