OPENING DAY OF THE 2021 WORLD SERIES CHAMPION ATLANTA BRAVES’ 2022 REGULAR SEASON IS JUST TWO WEEKS AWAY!

WLAQ 1410 AM/96.9 FM continues the countdown to Opening Day of the 2021 World Series champion Atlanta Braves’ 2022 season. The Braves will open their regular season on Thursday, April 7th on their home field at Truist Park in Atlanta against the Cincinnati Reds. That is exactly two weeks from today!

Two weeks ago today, Major League Baseball’s lockout came to an end as the league and MLB Players Association resolved their differences. Ben Ingram, play-by-play announcer for the Braves Radio Network, indicates that he was pleasantly surprised when the lockout ended. Although Opening Day ’22 has been delayed from the original date of March 31st, teams will still play a full 162-game schedule.

Ingram was a guest on the Thursday, March 17th edition of “Good Morning, Rome” on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM. The full interview may be heard online at www.wlaq1410.com.

The Braves played to a 7-7 tie in Grapefruit League action versus the Tampa Bay Rays at CoolToday Park in North Port, FL on Wednesday. That marked the second time in the past week that those teams ended with a tie ballgame. The Braves will head to Dunedin to face the Toronto Blue Jays this afternoon at 1:07 pm.
