SCRAP TIRE AMNESTY DAY SET FOR APRIL 23RD

The Rome-Floyd Recycling Center has scheduled a Scrap Tire Amnesty Day for Saturday, April 23rd from 9 am until 3 pm at the GE Trails, 1389 Redmond Circle in Rome.

Emma Wells, Floyd County’s Director of Solid Waste, attests that this will be the first tire recycling event since 2019. There are some guidelines to follow – up to 10 tires per vehicle, all vehicles must have a Floyd County tag, and no commercial tires. No appointment is necessary.

Tires may be recycled free of charge, thanks to the EPD’s STAR (Scrap Tire Abatement Reimbursement) program, states Wells.
