ATTENTION, STOCKPILERS! THE NEXT HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE AND ELECTRONICS RECYCLING EVENT IS SCHEDULED FOR MAY 21ST

Appointments will soon be scheduled for the Rome-Floyd Recycling Center’s next Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Recycling Event, which is slated for Saturday, May 21st. Items will be collected from 9 am until 3 pm at the center, 412 Lavender Drive.

Recyclers will again be able to schedule appointments online, as indicated by Emma Wells, Floyd County’s Director of Solid Waste.

The combined Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics events typically draw significantly more recyclers than the events limited to Electronics (such as the one held earlier this month).

Local stockpilers are encouraged by Wells to visit the Rome-Floyd Recycling Center’s Facebook page or phone (706) 291-5266 for updates about the next recycling event.

The center has also scheduled a Scrap Tire Amnesty Day for Saturday, April 23rd from 9 am to 3 pm at the GE Trails, located at 1389 Redmond Circle in Rome. Tires may be recycled for free, thanks to the EPD’s STAR (Scrap Tire Abatement Reimbursement) program, says Wells.
