A total of 3,016 new cases of coronavirus and 46 more virus-related fatalities were reported across Georgia on Thursday by the state Department of Public Health.

That number of confirmed cases included a backlog of cases not previously reported by a large laboratory.
According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 1,938,336 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll now stands at 31,097. The number of confirmed cases totaled 22,958 in Floyd County, which has additionally had a total of 416 fatalities. Fulton County has had the most confirmed cases in this state with 186,409 and the most deaths with 2,053.
As of Thursday’s update to the vaccine dashboard, 14,591,889 vaccines have been administered across the state; 63 percent of all Georgians have received at least one dose, while 56 percent have been fully vaccinated. Among fully vaccinated Georgians, 40 percent have had an additional dose; 22 percent of residents statewide have had the booster.
