SINE DIE: 2022 SESSION OF THE GEORGIA GENERAL ASSEMBLY IS ON THE BOOKS!

The ’22 session of the Georgia General Assembly is on the books, as Monday was Sine Die (or the last day of the session).

Katie Dempsey of Rome, who represents Georgia’s 13th District in the state’s House of Representatives, says that she is particularly pleased with the recent signing by Governor Brian Kemp of HB 1302, which ensures a tax refund to all eligible taxpayers. The additional refund of income taxes resulted from a surplus in state revenue.

Dempsey also supports Kemp’s signing of HB 304, which halts the state’s gas tax through the end of May. This is intended to provide relief to drivers amid the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. And drivers have felt pain at the gas pumps in recent weeks, acknowledges Dempsey.

Whether in session or not, state lawmakers remain open to concerns of their constituents, indicates Dempsey. Contact information for all members of the Georgia General Assembly may be found online at www.legis.ga.gov.
