COVID-19 DAILY STATUS REPORT, VACCINE DASHBOARD UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 319 new cases of coronavirus and 24 more virus-related fatalities were reported across Georgia on Tuesday by the state’s Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 1,940,176 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll now stands at 31,215. The number of confirmed cases totaled 22,967 in Floyd County, which has additionally had a total of 417 fatalities. Fulton County has had the most confirmed cases in this state with 186,665 and the most deaths with 2,060.

As of Tuesday’s update to the vaccine dashboard, 14,645,662 vaccines have been administered across the state; 63 percent of all Georgians have received at least one dose, while 56 percent have been fully vaccinated. Among fully vaccinated Georgians, 40 percent have had an additional dose; 22 percent of residents statewide have had the booster.

The free COVID-19 test sites in Bartow, Catoosa, Floyd, and Paulding counties will be closed today due to a severe weather forecast.  Regular testing hours are scheduled to resume Thursday, April 7.
