EMERGENCY DISPATCHERS CELEBRATED DURING NATIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATORS WEEK

This week has been observed as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, a time to celebrate those who provide aid to the public in the midst of emergencies.

Lt. Anna Lively with Floyd County E-911 says that working as an emergency dispatcher requires a substantial amount of on the job training and the ability to calmly handle stressful situations.

Dispatchers support one another as they deal with sometimes heartbreaking situations, adds Lt. Lively.

Those interested in employment with Floyd County E-911 should check out their Facebook page and scan a QR code for more information, indicates Lt. Lively.

And if you have any questions about employment opportunities, DON’T call 911. Lt. Lively says to call their non-emergency number at (706) 236-4541 or (706) 236-4543 for any application questions.
