ATLANTA BRAVES DROP SERIES FINALE IN SAN DIEGO TO THE PADRES, UP NEXT – FREDDIE FREEMAN AND THE LA DODGERS; ROME BRAVES FINISH FIRST HOMESTAND OF THE YEAR WITH A WINNING RECORD

The Atlanta Braves fell to the San Diego Padres 2-1 in Sunday night baseball at Petco Park in San Diego, CA, which resulted in a 2-2 split in the four game series between the teams.

Marcell Ozuna got the Braves on the board with a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning. It was his fourth homer of the season.

That was the lone run surrendered by Yu Darvish, who picked up the win for San Diego. Taylor Rogers got the save. Bryce Elder took the loss for Atlanta after giving up two runs and three hits, walking three, and striking out five in four and a third innings.

The defending World Series champion Braves will be in Los Angeles, CA for a rematch of last year’s NLCS against former teammate Freddie Freeman and the Dodgers tonight in the first outing of a three game set at Dodger Stadium. And in a minor league update, the Rome Braves emerged victorious on Easter Sunday over the Hudson Valley Renegades by 7-3 at AdventHealth Stadium. The Braves finished their first homestand of the season with a winning record of 4-2 and are 6-3 overall. They are off today and will return to action on the road up in Bowling Green, Kentucky on Tuesday evening with the first of six games versus the Hot Rods.
