ROME’S ICONIC CLOCKTOWER TO BE HIGHLIGHTED IN LOCAL OBSERVANCE OF NATIONAL TRAVEL AND TOURISM WEEK, SET FOR MAY 1-7

May is rapidly approaching. The first week of next month, May 1-7, 2022, will be observed as National Travel and Tourism Week, an annual initiative of the US Travel Association.

Kristi Kent, the Director of Communications for the Georgia’s Rome Office of Tourism, asserts that local events will highlight one of Rome’s most well-known tourist attractions – the iconic Clocktower, which celebrates 150 years in 2022. Those will include a Clocktower Painting Party on May 6th that will serve as a fundraiser for the local landmark. Information is available on the tourism office website at www.romegeorgia.org.

The Rome Tennis Center at Berry College provides a considerable boost to local tourism. It will be the site of the 2022 Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championships this week. Both will start on Wednesday and conclude on Sunday. Volunteers are now sought; registration is available online at www.rometenniscenter.com, says Kent. Tickets may be additionally purchased via that website.
