FLOYD COUNTY SCHOOLS NAMES SUSAN BAKER AS NEW DIRECTOR OF SPECIAL EDUCATION

Susan Baker has been named the Director of Special Education for Floyd County Schools (FCS). Mrs. Baker brings more than 23 years of experience and strengths in the special education field to her new role.

“Susan is the most knowledgeable Special Education Director that I have ever worked with. She always keeps the student’s best interest in the forefront,” said FCS Assistant Superintendent of Academics John Parker.

Mrs. Baker has earned a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Georgia College and State University, a Master’s degree in Special Education from Georgia State University, and an Educational Specialist degree in Special Education from the University of West Georgia.

Susan was most recently a special education coordinator for FCS. Prior to that, she served in the special education field as a service provider for students with physical and health disabilities and orthopedic impairments as well as a special education teacher and a home-based early intervention services provider for children ages birth through three years.
