ATLANTA BRAVES TAKE WEEKEND SERIES WITH MILWAUKEE BREWERS; ROME BRAVES DROP MOTHERS DAY OUTING UP IN GREENVILLE, SC

The Atlanta Braves beat the Milwaukee Brewers 9-2 on Sunday afternoon in the finale of a three-game set at Truist Park. That allowed the Braves to take the weekend series 2-1, their second series win of the year.

Highlights included a four-run second inning, along with a solo home run by Adam Duvall that gave Atlanta a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the third. William Contreras added a three-run bomb the bottom of the fifth.

Charlie Morton was credited with the win for Atlanta after surrendering just two hits, walking three, and striking out five in five scoreless innings. Aaron Ashby was charged with the loss for Milwaukee.

The Braves are off tonight and will return to action on Tuesday night as hosts to the Boston Red Sox in the first outing of a two-game interleague series in Atlanta. First pitch is slated for 7:20 pm. Listen locally on WLAQ 1410 AM or 96.9 FM; air time is 6:05 pm.

In a minor league update, the Rome Braves fell to the Greenville Drive 10-3 on Mothers Day in the finale of a six-game set in Greenville, SC. It allowed the Drive to take the series 5-1. Rome is off today and will return to action at home on Tuesday with the first of six games versus the Winston Salem Dash at AdventHealth Stadium.
