AS TEMPS RISE, FLOYD COUNTY PUBLIC ANIMAL WELFARE SERVICES REMINDS PET OWNERS TO SPAY/NEUTER

Amid warmer temperatures, Floyd County Public Animal Welfare Services (PAWS) has a friendly reminder for pet owners – spay and neuter your cats and dogs!

Jeff Mitchell, PAWS Director, asserts that financial assistance is available to those who need it.

The shelter is currently overrun with animals in need of a good home. It is a major issue for this community; thus, Mitchell emphasizes the importance of spaying and neutering.

Plenty of options are available to locals who wish to adopt a cat or dog, states Mitchell. PAWS is located at 99 North Avenue in Rome. Visit anytime from 1 pm until 5 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, or Saturdays, or call (706) 236-4537 to schedule an appointment.

In addition to adopters, PAWS seeks financial contributions to go towards the transport of animals to meet adoption demand in the North. Mitchell asserts that those trips can get expensive.
