SCHEDULE APPOINTMENTS NOW FOR HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE AND ELECTRONICS RECYCLING EVENT SLATED FOR MAY 21ST

The Rome-Floyd Recycling Center, 412 Lavender Drive, will host another Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Recycling Event next Saturday, May 21st from 9 am to 3 pm.

Emma Wells, Floyd County’s Director of Solid Waste, says that appointments must be made in advance online at www.floydcountyga.gov or by calling the center at (706) 291-5266.

The electronics to be accepted include computers, monitors, and televisions. HHW items include paints, motor oils, and flourescent bulbs, as indicated by Charles Hankins, the Assistant Director of the Rome-Floyd Recycling Center, who urges Floyd County residents to refrain from disposing of items like car seats, clothes, or toys.

Hankins also encourages those who plan to take advantage of this recycling event to refrain from waiting until the last minute to make an appointment, as the schedule was already over 50 percent full as of Thursday, May 12th.
