COOSA RIVER BASIN INITIATIVE LOOKS FORWARD TO GETTING BACK ON THE WATER THIS SUMMER

The Coosa River Basin Initiative looks forward to getting back on the water this summer.
Jesse Demonbreun-Chapman, Executive Director, says that the organization’s bacterial monitoring of popular area waterways will begin prior to Memorial Day weekend. New test sites have been added for 2022 to ensure safer waters in which locals may enjoy activities such as swimming and kayaking.

Weekly testing results will be shared with the public prior to every weekend through Labor Day, adds Demonbreun-Chapman.

The results may also be accessed via the Swim Guide app, which is available online at www.theswimguide.org.

Demonbreun-Chapman adds that the CRBI will soon release their paddle trip schedule for ’22. Stay tuned to www.coosa.org or the local non-profit’s social media outlets for updates.
