The Atlanta Braves opened a six-game road trip with a loss to the Milwaukee Brewers by 1-0 on Monday evening in the first meeting of a three-game set in Milwaukee, marking the second straight loss for the Braves.
Hunter Renfroe scored the lone run of the night during the bottom of the sixth inning on a wild pitch from Ian Anderson. Anderson took the loss for Atlanta after giving up that run and four hits, walking two, and striking out three over six innings of work. Freddy Peralta picked up the win and Josh Hader got the save for Milwaukee.
The Braves dropped to fourth place in the National League East with a record of 16-20, while the Brewers remain atop the NL Central at 23-13. The teams will meet again tonight at 7:40 pm. Listen on WLAQ 1410 AM/96.9 FM; air time is 6:25 pm.
In a minor league update, the Rome Braves had a scheduled off day Monday and will open a 12-game road trip up North tonight with the first of six games in Aberdeen, Maryland versus the IronBirds. First pitch is set for 7:05 pm.
