IT’S ELECTION DAY IN GEORGIA!

It’s Election Day in Georgia! The polls will be open across Rome and Floyd County from 7 am to 7 pm for the primary election. Local, state, and federal races are at stake, along with a proposed penny sales tax for education.

Election Night Results – Floyd County – May 24, 2022

The Secretary of State’s office reported a record-breaking turn-out for early voting for the primary. According to a media release –

More than 850,000 cast a ballot in person or returned an absentee ballot. Compared to early-voting turnout in recent primaries, this represented a 168 percent increase over 2018, the last gubernatorial primary, and a 212 percent jump above 2020, the last presidential primary year.

Anyone registered by April 25 can still vote in the party primary of their choice or cast a nonpartisan ballot in person on Election Day or by returning a previously requested absentee ballot by 7 pm this evening.
