ATLANTA BRAVES FALL IN ARIZONA TO THE DIAMONDBACKS IN EXTRAS

The Atlanta Braves fell to the Arizona Diamondbacks 8-7 over 10 innings on Monday night in game two of a three game set at Chase Field out in Phoenix, AZ, which allowed the D’backs to take a 2-0 lead in the series.

Arizona secured the victory on a walk-off double by Cooper Hummel off of Jackson Stephens in the bottom of the 10th.

Stephens took the loss for Atlanta, while (former Brave) Mark Melancon was credited with the win for Arizona.

Matt Olson was a bright spot for the Braves as he tallied four RBIs to include a two-run homer in the fourth and a two-run double in the fifth.

The Braves are still in second place of the National League East with a record of 23-27, while the D’backs remain next-to-last in the NL West at 25-26. The teams’ series finale is scheduled for today at 3:40 pm. Listen on WLAQ 1410 AM or 96.9 FM; air time is 2:25 pm.
