BYARS HAS OFFICIALLY RETIRED AS THE ROME CITY SCHOOLS’ SUPERINTENDENT

Tuesday, May 31st marked Louis Byars’ last day as the Rome City Schools’ Superintendent; he has now officially retired from that post after five years of service.

Byars stated during a recent interview on WLAQ 1410 AM/96.9 FM that he enjoyed his time at RCS, but he is excited about his retirement and having the opportunity to spend more time with family. He adds that he has had a smile on his face everywhere he’s been in recent days.

Dawn Williams has been appointed to serve as interim Superintendent of the Rome City Schools, effective today.
