ATLANTA BRAVES BACK AT TRUIST PARK TO HOST OAKLAND A’S, ROME BRAVES RESUME HOMESTAND WITH SET VS WILMINGTON BLUE ROCKS

The Atlanta Braves had a scheduled off day Monday and will open up a six-game homestand this evening with the first of two interleague outings versus the Oakland A’s at Truist Park. Kyle Wright will serve as the starting pitcher for Atlanta, while Cole Irvin will head to the mound for Oakland. First pitch is set for 7:20 pm. The Braves wrapped up a seven-game road trip out west on Sunday with an 8-7 victory over the Colorado Rockies to achieve their first-ever series sweep at Denver’s Coors Field in team history. They also improved to 28-27 to rise above .500.

Atlanta opened the road trip with two consecutive losses that were followed by five straight wins.

The Braves are in second place of the National League East, now nine games back from the division leading New York Mets. The A’s, Matt Olson’s former team, are 20-36 and in last place of the American League West.

And in a minor league update, the Rome Braves also had a scheduled off day Monday and will continue their current 12-game homestand tonight with the opener of a six-game set versus the Wilmington Blue Rocks at AdventHealth Stadium. First pitch is slated for 7 pm.
