CAVE SPRING ARTS FESTIVAL, ROME SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL AMONG LOCAL ENTERTAINMENT OPTIONS FOR THE WEEKEND

It’s not too soon to be thinking about what you’d like to do this weekend, and there will be some entertaining options around Rome and Floyd County.

The Cave Spring Arts Festival will take place on Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm at Rolator Park. Kristi Kent, the Director of Communications for the Georgia’s Rome Office of Tourism, encourages area residents to check out the handcrafted items from juried artists at the festival – and take some time to explore Cave Spring.

Kent enthuses that she is very excited that the Rome Shakespeare Festival has returned to the Town Green in downtown Rome; it opened on Wednesday and continues through Sunday evening.

The public is also encouraged by Kent to kick off the weekend with a visit to the Georgia’s Rome Farmer’s Market, which is hosted each Friday from 9 am to 12 pm noon in the parking lot of the Rome Civic Center on Jackson Hill by the Georgia’s Rome Gift Shop; it opened last week.

There are a host of other farmers markets hosted weekly throughout summer for those in search of fresh fruits, veggies, and other goods, adds Kent.
