FLOYD COUNTY ENTERS CONDITIONAL AGREEMENTS FOR AGRICULTURAL CENTER

(Media release from Floyd County, GA Board of Commissioners):

At their Tuesday, June 14, 2022 meeting, the Floyd County Board of Commissioners approved a conditional assignment and assumption of land purchase and sale with Ewing Companies, LLC, Pinnacle Housing Partners, LP, and Floyd County to purchase twenty acres of land at $1,200,000.00. They also approved a conditional option for the purchase and sale of real property between Rome Mall, LLC, a Georgia limited liability company and Floyd County to purchase approximately twenty-four acres of land in the amount of $900,000.00.

The property is located between US Highway 27 and the Armuchee Connector. It is east of Mt. Berry Square Mall and fronts Three Mile Road. It is adjacent to existing farm land, but it is centrally located with utilities.

The property will be used to construct an Agricultural Center that was approved by citizens on the 2017 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) referendum. The Agricultural Center was budgeted at $8,000,000 in the SPLOST. The current SPLOST began collecting in April 2019 and is currently in year four of collections.
