ROME 10U BASEBALL ALL-STARS WIN DISTRICT TOURNAMENT

The 10U Rome All-Star baseball team recently captured the Georgia Recreation and Park Association District 5 title in Dalton. The team comprised of players selected for all-star status from Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation’s 10U division finished the tournament with a 4-0 record.

Rome started the tournament with a 13-3 win over Rockmart before edging Summerville 2-0 in the second round. Rome upended Cartersville 18-7 in the semifinals to move into the finals where they topped Summerville 8-0 to win the double-elimination tournament and claim the district championship.

The squad now advances to the State Class A/B Tournament in Tucker which begins on Tuesday, June 21. The Rome squad is slated to start playing in the double elimination event on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. against Crisp County. The winner of that game will move on to play on Thursday, June 23 at 9 a.m., while the loser will drop into the loser’s bracket and play again on Wednesday, June 22 at noon.

Team members include Addie Greene, Easton Carver, Brycen Teems, Hutch Fannin, Noah Lambert, Will Richie, Kace Wofford, Ryan Taylor, Hudson Lucas, Marceete Wade Jr, Brody Teems and Cam Blanton. The squad is coached by Brian Richie, Sam Lucas and Derek Taylor.
