This is the first day of Summer. The season arrived with the summer solstice at 5:14 am. It is the longest day of the year for those of us here on the Earth’s Northern Hemisphere. Today marks the first day of Winter for those down in the Southern Hemisphere.

It will certainly feel like Summer through the rest of this week in Rome and Northwest Georgia. Sunshine will be accompanied by high temperatures into the upper 90s all week long, nearing 100 this Wednesday, as predicted by the National Weather Service.
