ATLANTA BRAVES DROP TUESDAY NIGHT OUTING TO THE SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS

The Atlanta Braves fell to the San Francisco Giants 12-10 on Tuesday night in the second outing of a four game set at Truist Park; that evened the series up at 1-1 and ended the Braves’ latest streak of victories on their home field at eight straight games.

Atlanta had a total of four home runs. Matt Olson homered twice. He had a three-run shot that gave the Braves a 5-4 lead during the bottom of the third inning and a two-run homer that made it 12-10 (in favor of the Giants) in the bottom of the ninth.

Marcell Ozuna and Ronald Acuna Jr. contributed two-run homers during the second and fourth innings, respectively. But these combined efforts were not enough for the Braves to overcome the Giants, who had home runs by Austin Wynns and Joc Pederson. Wynns had a total of four RBIs.

Atlanta reliever Darren O’Day took the loss. Tyler Rogers picked up the win in relief for San Francisco.

The Braves are now 39-30 on the 2022 season and remain in second place of the National League East, still five and a half games back from the New York Mets (who lost to Houston on Tuesday night). The Giants are 38-29 and still smack in the middle of the NL West. The teams will meet again this evening at 7:20 pm. Listen on WLAQ 1410 AM/96.9 FM; air time is 6:05 pm.
