COTTON BLOCK TRANSFORMED FOR FILMING OF NEW FX SERIES ‘KINDRED’

A portion of the Cotton Block in downtown Rome has been transformed into a scene from the 1800s this week for filming of an episode in a new FX series entitled “Kindred”.

Monica Sheppard, downtown property owner, says that the series is centered around a woman who discovers that she has the ability to travel through time.

Sheppard states that its ‘really cool’ to see the transformation of her space into the likeness of a bygone era.

Several other businesses have undergone a similar transformation, indicates Sheppard. Sand now covers a portion of the Cotton Block.

‘Kindred’, the FX series, is based on a 1979 novel of the same name that was written by Octavia E. Butler.
