SEEKING A BREAK FROM THE SUMMER HEAT? GO JUMP IN A LAKE AT GEORGIA STATE PARKS!

Are you seeking a break from Georgia’s extreme summer heat? State parks have much to offer, like streams, lakes, and even lakeside beaches, as stated by Kim Hatcher, who serves as Public Affairs Coordinator for Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites.

Hatcher recommends a visit to the lakeside beaches at Red Top Mountain at Lake Allatoona, the mountain lake at Fort Mountain in Chatsworth, or one of the two lakes at ‘Sloppy’ Floyd in Summerville.

For additional information, visit the Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites website at www.gastateparks.org.

The Northside Swim Center, located at 501 Kingston Road in Rome, is open for the season. For details, visit Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation’s website at www.rfpra.com.
