AUTHOR HEATHER MILLER BEGINS CHIEFTAINS MUSEUM SUMMER AUTHOR SERIES ON JULY 21ST

Chieftains Museum/Major Ridge Home, in partnership with the Rome Area History Center is proud to present the Summer Author Series, beginning with author Heather Miller on July 21st from 6:30-7:30pm at the Rome Area History Center located at 305 Broad Street.

An English educator for over 20 years, Miller’s debut novel, “Tho I Be Mute,” tells the story of the son of Cherokee leader Major Ridge, John Ridge, and John’s white wife Sarah Northrup Ridge through the eyes of their daughter Clarinda Ridge. The book, released in July 2021, is the first in a trilogy of novels featuring the Ridge family.

The July 21st event will feature a presentation by Ms. Miller discussing her work as well as a book signing for those in attendance. Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the event.

This presentation is free and open to the public and is co-sponsored by the Rome Area History Center.
