IT’S TIME FOR MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL’S ’22 ALL-STAR GAME!

Major League Baseball’s 2022 All Star Game is slated for tonight at 8 pm out in Los Angeles, California at the home of the Dodgers. It will be televised on FOX, whose broadcast will begin at 7:30 pm.

A total of six Atlanta Braves were selected for the National League roster to include Travis d’Arnaud, Austin Riley, Dansby Swanson, William Contreras, Ronald Acuna Jr., and Max Fried. Acuna and Contreras will start the game as right fielder and designated hitter, respectively. Fried has since backed out of pitching in the Midsummer Classic. Braves’ skipper Brian Snitker will serve as the manager for the NL team.

Acuna participated in the Home Run Derby that was held on Monday night as part of All Star festivities in LA. He was eliminted by Pete Alonso of the New York Mets by 20-19 in the first round. Another NL East rival, Juan Soto of the Washington Nationals, won the derby.

The Braves will return to action on their home field at Truist Park on Friday night with game one of a three-game set against the Los Angeles Angels (of the American League). First pitch is slated for 7:20 pm. The game will be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM, courtesy of the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.

In a minor league update, the Rome Braves are also observing the MLB All-Star break and will get back into action on Friday night up in Winston-Salem, NC with the first of three games versus the Dash.
