ROME CITY SCHOOL BOARD HOLDS CALLED MEETING

Rome City Schools Board members met for a called meeting on Monday to discuss the superintendent search and to vote on a second reading of system policies. The Board voted and approved the second reading of policies regarding unstructured break time, student attendance, complaints about instructional materials, divisive concepts complaint resolution process, materials harmful to minors complaint resolution process, and parents’ bill of rights.

After, the RCS School Board went into executive session to discuss the search for the new superintendent. Board members also voted to approve their application for the Georgia School Board Association’s Distinguished School Board Award. Last won in 2020, RCS has been the recipient of this award where winners are announced during the GSBA Winter Conference.

The RCS School Board also discussed filling the position of principal at Rome High School. They will choose a new principal of Rome High School after naming a permanent superintendent.
