The Atlanta Braves were defeated by the Los Angeles Angels 9-1 on Sunday afternoon in the last outing of a three-game interleague set at Truist Park; it denied a sweep of the weekend series for the Braves, who are now back to a game and a half behind the first place New York Mets in the National League East.
The Angels grabbed an early lead with five runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back.
An RBI single from Ronald Acuna Jr in the bottom of the seventh accounted for the Braves’ lone run of the day.
Ian Anderson was charged with the loss for Atlanta. Reid Detmers picked up the win for LA.

In a minor league update, the Rome Braves beat the Winston-Salem Dash 3-2 on Sunday in the finale of a three-game set up in Winston-Salem, NC. Rome took that series 2-1 and will return to action on Tuesday night in Hickory, NC with the first of six games against the Crawdads.
