AUGUST FIRST FRIDAY CONCERT SET FOR THIS FRIDAY NIGHT

The First Friday concert series will return to the Town Green in downtown Rome this Friday night, August 5th at 7 pm. Scott Thompson and the Unusual Suspects will be the headliner; Kevin Allen Music Productions (KAMP) will be the opening act, enthuses Megan Otwell, Marketing and Events Manager for Rome’s Downtown Development Authority.

Otwell anticipates that Scott Thompson and the Unusual Suspects will likely play hits from Tom Petty, the Allman Brothers Band, and other classic rock favorites. They may also fulfill some requests….

First Friday concerts are free to the public, thanks to the financial support of the Business Improvement District (or BID). Otwell encourages attendees to thank these businesses by shopping and eating downtown. Georgia Pacific is also a sponsor.

The 2022 First Friday concert series will conclude on Friday, September 2nd with Rock the 90’s as the headliner and Saints N Rebels as the opener, states Otwell.

Otwell attests that the turn-out was great for the first two concerts of the year in June and July.
