ROME-FLOYD COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT TO HOST ‘CAMP FULLY INVOLVED RFD’ FOR SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN IN SEPTEMBER

The Rome/Floyd County Fire Department will host a three-hour fire camp for special needs children ages 10 and up dubbed ‘Camp Fully Involved RFD’ on Saturday, September 24th. There will be two sessions from which to choose – 9 am to noon or 1 pm to 4 pm.

Shasta Farrer, Life and Fire Safety Educator, says that space is still available for this camp. She encourages locals to get more details, sign up, and watch a special video featuring Sparky on the department’s Facebook page. Or you can visit www.romegafire.gov and click on RFD news.

Campers will have the opportunity to meet local public safety heroes, ride in a fire truck, and more, says Farrer, who adds that even though the program is technically geared towards those age 10 and up, it is open to all ages.
