Hospitality House for Women, Inc. is in search of additional participants in the Grand Marshall Challenge to be held for the second year as a part of the annual Walk A Mile in Her Shoes, set for Friday, October 21st in downtown Rome. Walk A Mile is one of three activities to be hosted by the local non-profit in observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Five competitors have been confirmed so far this year, says Lynn Rousseau, Executive Director, who adds that other interested parties are encouraged to join the fund-raising effort.
The top fundraiser in the Challenge will lead this year’s Walk A Mile, themed ‘Team Up To End Domestic Violence’, aboard the Roman Chariot. Rousseau states that that these funds are desperately needed as her organization recently lost some grant funding.

Other activities planned for Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October include a Candlelight Vigil on the evening of October 20th and the Hospitality House for Women’s Annual Public Meeting on October 24th.
