ATLANTA BRAVES WRAP UP ROAD TRIP WITH NL EAST SERIES IN MIAMI AGAINST MARLINS, ROME BRAVES CONTINUE SERIES UP IN ASHEVILLE, NC VERSUS TOURISTS OVER THE WEEKEND

The Atlanta Braves had a scheduled night off Thursday and will continue the current 11-game road trip this weekend with four games in Miami, FL versus the Marlins. The first pitch of tonight’s series opener is slated for 6:40 pm at LoanDepot Park. Listen to that game on WLAQ 1410 AM/96.9 FM; air time is 5:25 pm from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.

The Braves opened this road trip by dropping four out of five up in New York to the Mets last weekend, but they bounced back with a two-game interleague sweep in Boston over the Red Sox this past Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Their series finale at Fenway Park was highlighted by the major league debut of Vaughn Grissom, who had a two-run homer over the Green Monster as the Braves defeated the Red Sox by a final score of 8-4.

The Braves are currently 66-46 on the 2022 season and still in second place of the National League East, still seven games back from the division-leading New York Mets. The Marlins are in fourth place at 50-61.

In other news from the Atlanta Braves, pitcher Max Fried has been placed on the seven-day concussion IL following an injury last weekend in New York; Jay Jackson has been recalled to Atlanta.

And in a minor league update, the Rome Braves lost to the Asheville Tourists 6-3 on Thursday evening in the third match of a six-game series in Asheville, NC. Game four is slated for tonight at 6:35 pm.
