THE DAVIES HOMELESS SHELTERS TO BENEFIT FROM MIDMOD TOUR OF HOMES ON SEPTEMBER 18TH, SEEK NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR UPON DEPARTURE OF DEVON SMYTH

The Davies Homeless Shelters will benefit from a MidMod (or Mid-Century Modern) Tour of Homes to be hosted by the Rome Area Heritage Foundation on Sunday, September 18th from 1 pm to 4 pm.

Bobby Jones, the Director of Development for the Davies Homeless Shelters, enthuses that tour tickets are now available on the website of local realtor Jeb Arp, www.jebarp.com/tickets.

Six historic properties will be showcased in this tour to include Skyhaven, attests Jones, who adds that participants will need the full three hours to see them all.

Tickets cost $30 for just the tour; $65 for the tour, a patron party, and RAHM membership. For additional event information, search for the MidMod Tour of Homes on Facebook.

The Davies Shelters have been adjusting to life without Devon Smyth as their Executive Director. She recently departed that post to pursue a new job with Extra Special People (ESP). Jones and Brian Harris, Director of Operations, have assumed ED duties at the Davies Shelters since Smyth’s departure. She is missed, muses Jones, as she had quite an impact on the non-profit over the years.

A search committee, led by board chair Julie Smith, will determine who will serve as Devon Smyth’s successor; Jones states that they will take their time in making that decision.
