STILL PLENTY OF TIME FOR SUMMER FUN AT GEORGIA STATE PARKS AND HISTORIC SITES, BOOK NOW FOR FALL

School may be back in session, but Summer is not over yet! This is a great time to visit a state park, asserts Kim Hatcher, Public Affairs Coordinator for Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites, who adds that those parks are a little less crowded now that the kids have returned to the classrooms. She suggests a visit up to Red Top Mountain, Fort Mountain, or James H. “Sloppy” Floyd State Park for some Summertime fun out on the water.

Some parks on the southern end of the state offer splash pads and pools.

This is also an optimal time for Georgia campers to make reservations for the Fall, attests Hatcher. Some of the more popular sites for leaf peeping, such as Vogel, Cloudland Canyon, and Black Rock Mountain, book up quickly.
