ATLANTA BRAVES TAKE SERIES WIN OVER COLORADO ROCKIES AT TRUIST PARK; NL EAST SET VERSUS MIAMI MARLINS ON TAP FOR THE WEEKEND

The Atlanta Braves shutout the Colorado Rockies 3-0 on Thursday night in the finale of a three-game set at Truist Park; that allowed the Braves to take the series 2-1. Atlanta remains three games back from the National League East-leading New York Mets, who beat the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Austin Riley opened up the scoring with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth inning. Michael Harris II had a solo shot in the fifth. Dansby Swanson added an RBI single in that inning to make it 3-0 in favor of the Braves.

Spencer Strider notched 16 strikeouts en route to the win, the most ever by an Atlanta Brave. He also gave up just two hits and walked none through eight scoreless innings.

Kenley Jansen picked up the save for Atlanta. Chad Kuhl was charged with the loss for Colorado.

The Braves improved to 81-51 on the 2022 season. They will host the Miami Marlins in a three-game NL East series over the weekend. The first pitch of tonight’s series opener is scheduled for 7:20 pm. That game will not be aired on WLAQ 1410 AM or 96.9 FM due to our broadcast of high school football. Tune in for coverage of the remainder of that series from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.
