GOVERNOR BRIAN KEMP VISITS COMMUNITIES IN CHATTOOGA COUNTY IMPACTED BY LABOR DAY WEEKEND FLOODING

Governor Brian Kemp and First Lady Marty Kemp paid a visit to Chattooga County on Wednesday to assess the damage caused by flooding during Labor Day weekend.

The Governor indicated to Summerville’s WZQZ News that as waters recede, residents are working hard to restore their homes and businesses.

Assistance is available to Chattooga County residents as long as it is needed, assured Governor Kemp.

Governor Kemp stated that he and Georgia Emergency Management Agency Director Chris Stallings have contacted the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the US Small Business Administration. FEMA’s assessment of the flood damage should be completed soon, which could result in additional resources for Chattooga County.

The Governor also spoke at a meeting of the Greater Rome Board of Realtors on Wednesday.
