IMAGINE ROTARY STORYTIME AT ROME-FLOYD COUNTY LIBRARY TO ENCOURAGE YOUNGSTERS TO READ (AND SIGN UP FOR A LIBRARY CARD!)

(From the Rome-Floyd County Library):

To celebrate Basic Education & Literacy month, the Rome-Floyd County Library is partnering with the Rome Rotary Club to offer a special storytime program! It will take place today at 11 am at the library, located on Riverside Parkway in Rome.

The Rome Rotary Club has received a District Grant that will allow the purchase and distribution of books, finger puppets, and light snacks for the attendees of the program, attests Mary Hardin Thornton, the club’s current President.

Along with the book distribution, Rotarians and library staff will talk about the importance of reading to children at an early age. Hear from Friends of the Library volunteers about the library, and celebrate National Library Card Sign-Up Month by signing up for a library card.

This interactive storytime program is geared towards children ages birth to five years, says Jeanne Mann, Children’s Coordinator at the library.
