ATLANTA BRAVES NOTCH ANOTHER VICTORY IN DC OVER THE WASHINGTON NATIONALS, ALL TIED WITH THE NEW YORK METS FOR FIRST PLACE IN THE NL EAST

The Atlanta Braves beat the Washington Nationals 8-2 on Tuesday night in the middle outing of a three-game National League East set at Nationals Park in Washington DC, marking the fourth straight win for the Braves. Atlanta is now tied for first place in their division with the New York Mets, who lost to the Miami Marlins on Tuesday night.

The Nationals nabbed an early lead on an RBI double from Luke Voit during the bottom of the first inning and a solo home run from Victor Robles in the second. A two-run triple by Michael Harris II tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the fourth. The Braves took the lead in the top of the fifth on back-to-back home runs by Orlando Arcia and Ronald Acuna Jr. Eddie Rosario hit a two-run double in the sixth, then Ronald Acuna Jr hit another home run during the seventh. Marcell Ozuna walked in another run in the top of the eighth, and the Braves won the game, again, by a final score of 8-2.

Collin McHugh was credited with the win in relief for Atlanta. Paolo Espino was charged with the loss for Washington.

The Braves improved to 97-58 with seven games remaining in the ’22 regular season. They will conclude their set in Washington DC against the Nationals tonight. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm. Listen on WLAQ 1410 AM or 96.9 FM; airtime is 5:50 pm.
